Shallowford Park

Shallowford Park

Shallowford Park is a purely imaginary branch line terminus station situated somewhere in the Western Electrification Section of the Southern Railway. This gives the excuse for the 3rd rail and the running of E M Us.

No particular time span has been chosen but most of the locos used are ex L S W R from 1930 onwards and are all kit built.

The station building is modeled from Wool in Dorset and the signal cabin from Swanage.

Trackwork has been built up from copper clad sleepers and  S M P track sections.

Points are operated by wire in tube, torsion bar and H & M point motors.

Signals are build up from Wizard Models inc Model Signal Engineering etched brass part and are operated by Rods and Cranks brought out to wooden slide bars.

Though the layout is only a small branch line many classes of locos may be seen, some of which would never have been allowed on to it but they have to be run somewhere such is modelers license and also included at times some from that other green painted railway the G W R.

Hope you enjoy my layout
